Our Story
Floor Gurus is a second generation flooring company, owned and operated by Josh Reid, who originally moved to Greenville in 1999 with his father, Brian, to start a quality flooring company.
When Josh was young, he was an apprentice to his father who installed and repaired floors, including hardwood, carpet, laminate, and vinyl. Josh’s first job was as a Sales Consultant for a high-end flooring store in Stuart, FL with seasoned owners and experts in the industry. His installation experience gave him the edge over peers because he could help clients make educated decisions on the best product for their needs. Josh realized quickly that advising his clients was one of his favorite aspects of the job.
In 1999, Brian and Josh moved to Greenville, SC and eventually started a company called Reid’s Floorcovering Installations. They worked tirelessly to build the company to over 16 crews installing for Lowe’s and most of the local flooring companies. Focusing on service and experience, their competitive advantage became a new caliber of installer who was well trained and certified in their craft. After a few years, the business expanded into materials and was rebranded to “Floor Gurus” with a tagline of “The Experience You Deserve”, touting their unique 30+ years of experience.
